Causes of Epilepsy

 

In approximately 75% of all cases, there is NO known cause. Of the remaining cases, there are a number of frequently identified causes.
 

These include:

• Brain injury / head trauma

• Birth trauma

• Poisoning from substance abuse or environmental contaminants

• Aftermath of infection

• Alteration in blood sugar

• Brain tumor and stroke
