Epilepsy Mississauga is a non-profit, community-based organization serving those in Mississauga with seizure disorders.

 

Board of Directors

 

Our agency is governed by a Board of Directors who are interested in assisting through their personal and/or professional experience with epilepsy.

 

The Board holds regular meetings throughout the year and are voted in for two-year terms at the Annual General Meeting.

Interested in being on the board of directors?

Please fill out our board of directors application and send it along with a copy of your resume to us at volunteers@epilepsymississauga.com if you have skills and experience in any of the following areas:

  • Medical and health
  • Legal
  • Social services
  • Fundraising
  • Public relations/marketing  

 

Position Description:


Some of the major responsibilities include:
▪ Organizational leadership

Strategic planning - Setting the overall direction of the organization
Provide oversight of the organization on behalf of the membership

Financial management - providing input into and approving the annual budget
▪ Evaluate the performance of key staff members

▪ Promote the organization

Meetings and time commitment:
▪ The board of directors meets approximately 9-10 times per year. Meetings typically last 90 minutes.
▪ Board members are asked to attend the Annual General Meeting and two or three fundraising or special events per year, as they are determined.
